Before a long stop

The manual's advice for a long stop.

1. Empty the water tank.
2. Empty, wash and dry the drip tray.
3. Leave no coffee in the portafilter.
4. Unplug the machine.

No source gives a way to drain the thermoblock. When you bring the machine back, run half a tank through as the manual says for first use.
