Take the panels off

Lift the body off

Ascaso's warranty is void if the machine has been taken apart by anyone outside the Ascaso Official Technical Assistance Network, or if it has limescale deposits or has not been cleaned (the manual, section 9). There are no panels: the colour-coded body (column and head in one casting) lifts off the base. This is the method of the US retailer 1st-line, whose photos mostly show the older Dream.

  1. Unplug and let the machine cool.
  2. Take out the tank, the drip tray and the portafilter.
  3. Lay a towel down and turn the machine upside down on it.
  4. Undo the 2 Phillips screws behind the group.
  5. Hold the body in place and turn the machine upright.
  6. Lift the body off.

The lid and the cup warmer

Ascaso's 2019 parts diagram shows the domed lid held by three M8 nuts (I.276), on two brass M5 stand-offs (I.136) and the cup rail's studs. The cup warmer element (230 V: I.4175; 120 V: I.4337) is under it.

No source describes taking the lid off, and none of the jobs in this guide needs it.
