The coffee is not hot enough
The manual's causes: the machine is not up to temperature, or the cup and portafilter are cold. Keep the portafilter in the group, warm the cups on the lid, and if that is not enough, raise the coffee temperature.
One owner on the Home-Barista forum measured about 60 °C in the cup with 93 °C set on a new machine. The suggestion there was the temperature offset (U) in the set-up menu; the thread was not resolved.
