Espresso, Bezzera's way
Bezzera's way (the manual)
The manual's steps.
- Let the machine heat until the boiler scale reads 1 to 1.2 bar, with the portafilter locked in so it stays hot.
- Dose 10 g in the single basket or 20 g in the double.
- Press the coffee down, taking care not to dirty the rim.
- Lock the portafilter into the group.
- Put the cup under the spouts and switch the coffee switch on.
- Switch it off when you have the amount you want.
Owner notes, not Bezzera's
Not in the manual. Each note says where it comes from.
- Warm-up: Whole Latte Love says it heats in about 10 minutes; Kaffeemacher measured about 22 minutes to full temperature. Give the heated group time after the boiler gauge settles.
- Cooling flush: owners say the heated group needs little or none, unlike HX machines that heat the group from the boiler alone (home-barista.com).
- Harsh or sour-bitter shots: owners lower the boiler pressure in small steps. See boiler pressure.
- Grind and dose: the manual's own checks are in shots run slow.
