Make a shot

The manual's steps.

1. Press FILTER SIZE to match the basket in the portafilter.
2. Push the portafilter into the cradle and release it: the grinder doses by itself. Push and hold to grind by hand.
3. Tap, tamp, trim with the Razor and wipe the rim.
4. Press 1 CUP for about 5 seconds to purge the group.
5. Lock the portafilter in at INSERT and turn it towards LOCK until it stops, with a warm cup under it.
6. Press 1 CUP or 2 CUP. It stops by itself; press again to stop early.

Afterwards, knock out the grounds and lock the empty portafilter in for a quick rinse. Water purged into the tray after every shot is normal.

Hot water, and a clear-water flush

Hot water from the manual; the flush from Breville's own video, which says to do it after every coffee session.

1. Turn the dial towards the hot-water icon for water from the outlet, and back to STANDBY to stop.
2. Empty the drip tray.
3. Put the grey silicone cleaning disc in the basket and lock the portafilter in.
4. Press 1 CUP, let the pressure build for 20 seconds, then press again to stop. Water runs back into the tray.
5. Repeat 3 to 4 more times.
6. Take out the disc and empty the tray.
