Latte

Latte, and the small ones

The biggest and mildest of the milk drinks. Common café practice; Breville's milk steps.

  1. Pull a double shot into a 240 to 300 ml glass or cup.
  2. Turn to STEAM over the tray; when ready, back to STANDBY.
  3. Steam about 200 ml of cold milk, filled to just below the spout's "V" as the manual says, stretching a little longer than for a flat white.
  4. Keep it spinning to 60 to 65 °C.
  5. STANDBY, tap, swirl, then pour slowly and finish with about 1 cm of foam.

Cortado: a double shot with about the same amount of lightly stretched milk, in a small glass. Macchiato: a shot "marked" with a spoonful of foam.
