The gauge does not move

The gauge needle does not rise

The UK and Australian manuals: a needle that does not rise usually means the wrong dose, beans older than about 4 weeks, or a grind too coarse.

Dose correctly and trim with the Razor.
Use beans within 4 weeks of roasting.
Grind finer.
Test the gauge: put the cleaning disc in the 1 cup basket with no coffee and run a shot. If the needle moves, the gauge works.
