Thermal cut-out and boards

Thermal cut-out and boards

Breville's US manual: "For any maintenance other than cleaning, call Breville Consumer Support." Sage's UK guide: "Any maintenance other than cleaning should be performed by an authorised Sage service centre." Opening the case is an unauthorised repair under Breville's and Sage's warranty terms and voids the warranty (1 year in the US and Canada, 2 years in the UK, EU and Australia). Wait until it has run out. Treat this as service-centre work: the methods shown are owners' and retailers', named where they appear.

The manual: if the machine is on but stops working, "the safety thermal cut-out may have activated due to the pump or grinder overheating". Switch off, unplug and let it cool for 30 to 60 minutes. If it keeps happening, call Breville or Sage.

Owner and forum reports beyond the manual: a failed pump triac on the board keeps the pump running all the time; a failing solenoid triac sends water the wrong way (Home-Barista, 2026). Board parts: US triac kit SP0020448.
