Cool down after steam

Cool the boiler before the next coffee

The 2026 manual's cooling cycle (EC685, EC695 and EC785). The 2016 manual: "the boiler must first be cooled or the coffee will be burnt."

  1. Look for the 1-cup and 2-cup lights flashing together after steaming: the boiler is too hot for coffee.
  2. Put a container under the frother.
  3. Open the steam dial. Water and steam come out and the steam light flashes.
  4. Wait: delivery stops by itself when the boiler is cool.
  5. Close the dial.
