The manual's own fixes. The Dedica's filters are pressurised (a valve under the basket makes the crema), so grind and weight matter less than on the other machines here.

1. Weak, fast or pale: press the coffee a little firmer, or grind finer. Slow and strong: press more lightly. That is the manual's rule.
2. Cup too full or too short: record your own volume. For a 1:2 shot on the 2-cup filter, about 14 g in, aim for about 30 to 40 g in the cup; the factory 2-cup is 70 ml, a longer, milder shot.
3. Not hot enough: hold the steam button 10 seconds to enter the settings.
4. Press 1-cup for temperature, then pick Low, Medium or High.
5. The lights show the level; leave it 15 seconds to save.
