The filters, taken apart
The 2026 manual: when a filter is still dirty after rinsing, "or in any case at least once a month".
- Pull the perforated insert out of the filter by its tab.
- Rinse the insert and the filter under warm water.
- Clear any blocked holes with a pin.
- Dry them and press the insert back in fully.
- Rinse the pod filter, if you have one, and clear its holes with a pin.
- Clean the filter holder cup with a soft damp cloth.
No backflush. The Dedica has no three-way valve to release pressure from the group, and De'Longhi gives no backflush method. So this guide has no backflush job and lists no blind basket or backflush detergent.
Tank and drip tray
The manual's monthly care, and at each filter change.
- Lift out the tank and empty it.
- Clean it with a damp cloth and a little mild washing-up liquid, then rinse it well.
- Rinse the water filter, if fitted, and put it back.
- Refill and refit the tank. With a filter fitted, run 100 ml of hot water from the frother.
- Take out the drip tray and plate, wash them and refit them.
- Wash the mug tray underneath.
