Steps marked "the manual" follow De'Longhi's current UK instructions for the EC685, EC695 and EC785 (57132C8997, revision 01, June 2026). Where older editions differ (5713233481 of December 2016, the 2017 US manual and the 2017 US Get Started guide) the screen says so in a Watch out: the frother twist direction, the auto-off times and the descale light. Part numbers come from De'Longhi's DLS Service parts drawing (product 0132106165, AU/NZ EC685.R), De'Longhi's US parts partner and Espresso Coffee Shop. Owner and technician methods are named where they appear. The 3D model follows De'Longhi's size (149 × 330 × 305 mm, 414 mm deep with the handle); the parts drawing is not to scale, so positions come from photographs (about ±3 mm across the front and ±10 mm in depth). No photo of the back or underside was found, and the inside is drawn from the parts drawing and teardowns, not measured.
