Steam valve and wand
The steam valve and the wand
De'Longhi gives owners no repair jobs. The manual: "If the appliance is faulty, do not attempt to repair. Turn it off, unplug from the mains socket and contact Customer Services." The US manual adds that removing the exterior, repairing or modifying the machine voids the warranty (1 year in the US plus 1 with registration; 2 years in the UK and EU). Treat this as Customer Services work: the methods shown are owners', named where they appear.
Coffee Grump (technician): a wand that drips while heating or brewing needs a new steam valve and hose clamp; machines above serial 04728 already have the updated valve.
Faulds (EC680): the steam pipe passes through a ball joint held between the outer case and the inner frame, secured by a circlip; inside, a flexible pipe with spring clamps joins it to the steam valve.
No step-by-step valve change was found, so none is given.
