Do not descale it yourself: why

ECM says descaling is for a qualified technician. The manual: "A calcified machine should only be descaled by a qualified technician in our authorized dealer as it may require partial disassembly of the boiler and tubing." It adds that putting off descaling can badly damage the machine.

So there is no descaling method here. Prevention is the owner's job: water no harder than 4 °dH and ECM's filter cartridge in the tank (water and filters). A machine that needs descaling goes to an ECM dealer (search at ecm.de).
