E61 group valves

Inside the E61 group

ECM's manual says any repair or change of components must be carried out by an authorised specialist dealer, using only original spare parts; otherwise ECM accepts no liability. Treat this as dealer work.

Clive Coffee's description, for the original Synchronika's E61: an upper valve (pin-shaped) under the top cap, a brew valve in the middle and a lower drain valve (short, triangle-shaped) in the bottom piece, whose spring is loaded as it comes undone. Clive uses a wide adjustable wrench, a second wrench to hold the lower part, and a microfibre towel between wrench and chrome. ECM's numbers: valves C219900424, C219903081, C219900430; springs C219900423, C219900431; gicleur filter P1025.2 and 0.8 mm restrictor C229900549 under the cap.

The II's group body is new (P1075, drilled for heating cartridges). Leave this to a dealer.
