The daily clean

The manual's daily cleaning. It says switch off, unplug and let the machine cool to room temperature (at least 30 minutes) before cleaning.

1. Switch off and unplug, and let it cool.
2. Take the basket out of the portafilter and wash both in warm water, with a food-safe detergent if you like.
3. Brush the shower screen and gasket in place, without taking them apart.
4. Rinse the tank and refill it.
5. Empty and wash the drip tray and grid; do not wait until it is full.
6. Wipe both wands with a soft, damp cloth.

Nothing here goes in the dishwasher, the manual says. ECM gives no daily backflush with water.
