Know the machine
What is on the outside
A lever, two joysticks, two gauges, a display with one knob, a switch and a lamp. Tap a part to see what it does.
Names follow the manual's parts picture (fig. 3.1).
What is on the inside
Inside: two insulated boilers, the rotary pump and its motor, a valve block with the fill valve, and the control board. The group has its own heaters, so the coffee is ready before the steam boiler is.
Everything here is behind the panels, which ECM reserves for an authorised dealer.
Underneath and at the back
Three things under the machine matter to an owner: the tank or mains valve, the water connection, and the brew pressure screw. On the original Synchronika the tank or mains choice was a switch behind the drip tray; on the II it is the valve plus the "Tank Mode" setting in the menu.
