Tank and mains valve

The tank float, filters and the 3-way valve

ECM's manual says any repair or change of components must be carried out by an authorised specialist dealer, using only original spare parts; otherwise ECM accepts no liability. Treat this as dealer work.

One owner check is in the manual: the tank's float. "The side of the floater with the magnet point must face towards the inside of the machine", with the magnet point at the top. Upside down or turned, the reed sensor cannot see it and the machine says the tank is empty (Clive Coffee: "nothing will happen").

Behind that are the tank filter (C439900695), the mains filter (C519900369) and the manual 3-way valve under the machine (P3528). Clive replaces the 3-way valve on the original Synchronika with panels off, a 3 mm Allen key, a #1 Phillips, 10 to 17 mm spanners and PTFE tape. That is dealer work.
