It does not heat

It does not heat, or a light stays off

Diagnosis from the retailer Whole Latte Love, on the 2019 machine onwards.

1. Power light on, no heat, the pump dead, and neither ready light ever comes on. The thermal fuse has blown: replace it, and find out why.
2. The pump works but the water stays cold, or the coffee light comes on at once from cold. The brew thermostat: replace it.
3. It brews but never makes steam. The steam thermostat.
4. The machine heats, but one ready light never comes on. The lamp has slipped out of its lens clip, or the lens is broken. Unplug, go cold, take the top off and re-seat it.

For coffee that is merely too cool, the manual's checks are a fully heated machine, warm cups and a preheated filter holder.
