Latte
Latte, and the small ones
The biggest and mildest of the milk drinks. Common café practice; Gaggia gives no recipe.
- Pull a double shot into a 240 to 300 ml glass or cup.
- Press the steam button; when the light comes on, clear the wand.
- Froth about 180 ml of cold milk in a jug of 500 to 600 ml, for 3 to 5 seconds.
- Push the nozzle deeper and heat to 60 to 65 °C. Close the knob.
- Pour slowly, then bring the jug down to finish with about 1 cm of foam.
Cortado: a double shot with about the same amount of lightly frothed milk, in a small glass. Macchiato: a shot "marked" with a spoonful of foam.
