Steps marked "the manual" are from Gaggia's Classic E24 user manual, EU edition. It covers priming, brewing, steaming, the monthly backflush and the two-monthly descale, and nothing with a tool. Gaggia's safety booklet reserves repairs for a service centre it has authorised and forbids modifications. Everything beyond the manual is marked where it appears as coming from Gaggia's 2019 Classic service manual (written for the aluminium-boiler RI9380 and RI9480), from a named retailer, or from owners. Nothing here was checked on a machine.

Not settled, and flagged where they appear: every cross-head screwdriver size; the 17 mm spanner on the E24's wand nut and thermostats; whether to descale through the group; the factory brew pressure (11 bar in Gaggia's list, 8 to 9 bar in one test); the boiler's volume and whether its brass is bare; the thermal fuse's rating; the group gasket's size; and what the small 2.9 mm screw under the top holds. Reddit and one UK forum could not be opened, so owner reports specific to the E24 are thin.

This guide is for the EU and UK machine, RI9481. North American machines (RI9380) have a different power switch, no automatic switch-off and a different pressure valve. The code RI9481/11 covers both the 2023 Evo and the 2024 E24. Some maker's pictures still show details of the 2019 machine.

The casing is measured from Gaggia's exploded view, tied to the official 200 mm width: 244 deep and 353 high without feet. The positions of the group, wand and drain pipe, and everything inside, cannot be measured from that drawing and are placed by eye. The thermal fuse and its bracket, the hoses, the wand's fork clip and the steam valve's screws are placed by eye in this model. The timer board is not modelled.
