Water from the wand, none from the group

Steam and hot water come from the wand, but the group gives nothing or a dribble. The pump is fine. The retailer Whole Latte Love puts it down to scale lodged in the three-way valve, or a blocked shower screen or holder plate. The 2019 service manual's answer to blocked water channels is to descale.

The manual's own checks for "no brewing" come first: water in the tank, a filter not clogged by coffee ground too fine or tamped too hard, and a clean shower screen.
