The drain pipe falls out
The drain pipe will not fit, or drops out
The drain pipe pushes up into a rubber fitting under the housing, held by a nut inside. The retailer Whole Latte Love finds that the nut can shift in transit, so the pipe will not push in or falls out.
Its fix is to take the top off and steady or re-seat the nut from above while the pipe is pushed in. Gaggia's manual does not cover this, and its safety booklet says repairs are only for a service centre authorised by Gaggia. The 2019 service manual uses a 14 mm spanner on this fitting and tightens the nut to 2.3 Nm.
