Weekly soak

Soak the filters and filter holder

The manual's own routine is shorter: wash the filter every day, put the filters in boiling water for 10 minutes if brewing is poor, and use the Gaggia tablets for a deeper clean. It gives no weekly soak. The soak below is Whole Latte Love's, filmed on the 2019 machine.

1. Dissolve 6 g of detergent powder, about a tablespoon, in 1 litre of hot water.
2. Put the filters and the filter holder in and leave them for 30 minutes.
3. Rinse them, lock the empty filter holder in and run water through it.
