Probes and safety thermostats
La Marzocco's manual says not to attempt repairs: any repair must be done by La Marzocco or an authorised centre, using original parts, and the warranty is void for components tampered with or repairs by unauthorised people. Treat this as authorised-centre work.
Each boiler has a temperature probe (an NTC type, not PT100) that tells the board its temperature, and a "trip-free" safety thermostat that cuts the heat if it overheats. The steam boiler also has a level probe for the auto-fill, which La Marzocco's checklist cleans every 2 years.
Owner reports: brew water boiling or spitting was fixed with a new coffee probe (once the board as well); the steam safety valve venting was fixed with a new steam probe.
