Take the panels off

Drain box, tank and top-front plate

La Marzocco's manual says not to attempt repairs: any repair must be done by La Marzocco or an authorised centre, using original parts, and the warranty is void for components tampered with or repairs by unauthorised people. Treat this as authorised-centre work.

La Marzocco's only published sequence is a set of pictures in its plumb-in kit guide, which removes the panels to fit the kit. These steps follow those pictures.

  1. Switch off, unplug and let the machine cool.
  2. Pull off the drain box.
  3. Slide the tank out, unclipping its intake hose.
  4. Lift out the screw and spacer the pictures show in the tank bay.
  5. Undo the screws on the top-front plate over the valves with a flat screwdriver, and lift it off.

Cup tray, inner plates and the body

Still the plumb-in guide's pictures. The body shell is one wrap-around piece.

  1. Undo the small nut at each front side of the cup-warmer body with a 7 mm spanner.
  2. Lift off the cup-warmer grid; a magnet holds it.
  3. Undo the four screws of the inner plates beneath (two have washers) and lift both plates out.
  4. Undo the screws low on each side; the pictures show three on the left.
  5. Slide the body shell back and off.
