What is under the group
La Pavoni's manual says any servicing or repair, apart from normal cleaning and maintenance, must be done by an authorised service centre, and that unauthorised repairs or non-original parts void the warranty. Its service-centre list names none in the UK. The method here is from retailers and owners, as marked. For a leak round the holder, its troubleshooting table says: "The gasket of the boiler unit is worn: contact the SERVICE CENTRE".
No screw holds the screen. The gasket fits round it, is pushed up into the group, and the holder seats them (Great Infusions; La Pavoni's drawing shows no screw). The gasket has been square in section since 13 March 2008 (2612005); machines from 2000 to 2008 used 361028.
La Pavoni gives no interval. Change it when it leaks or has gone hard.
Change the gasket and screen

- Switch off, unplug and let the machine cool. Open the steam knob so no pressure is left.
- Take the holder out and leave the lever down.
- Prise the old gasket out of the group with a pick or a small screwdriver. The screen is held only by the gasket, so it comes out too.
- Clean the groove in the group and the screen, or fit a new screen.
- Fit the new gasket round the screen, flat side down, and push both up into the group.
- Lock the holder in to seat them.
