Steam wand deep clean
Clean the pipe and clear the tip
The manual's wand care.
- Wipe the steam pipe with a damp cloth after every use.
- If the steam is weak or uneven: switch off, open the steam knob to let the pressure out, and let it cool.
- Clear the tip's three holes with a needle, as the manual says.
- Heat up again and open the knob into a container to check the steam.
Take the steam pipe off and refit it
The manual does this to fit the Cappuccino Automatic; the same steps give you the pipe off for cleaning, or to reach its O-rings.
- Switch off, let the machine cool, and close the steam knob.
- With the key supplied, turn the small socket screw on the tap body clockwise to release the pipe.
- Turn the steam pipe clockwise until it stops, then pull it out to the right.
- Check the two O-rings on the tap's outlet (OR 106 Viton, 465017). Roll new ones on if they are worn (parts list; not in the manual).
- Push the pipe back into its seat towards the left, and turn it anticlockwise until it stops.
- Turn the screw anticlockwise to lock it. The manual: keep it locked whenever the machine is in use.
