Anti-vacuum valve
Replace the anti-vacuum valve
This valve lets air in as the steam boiler cools and shuts as it heats. Owners replace it when it stops sealing; cleaning sometimes works. This is owner practice, not a Lelit method.
- Unplug, let it go cold and take the top panel off.
- Find the valve on top of the steam boiler. On this version a hose runs from it to the drip tray.
- Pull the hose off and unscrew the valve.
- Wrap the new valve's thread with PTFE tape. One owner was told no sealant was needed, and it leaked until taped.
- Fit it, push the hose back on, heat up and listen.
To confirm the fault first: with the machine hot and unplugged, pinch this valve's hose, then the safety valve's hose, and watch which one stops the hiss.
