First start-up

Fill the tank and switch on

  1. Stand the machine on a solid, flat, dry surface. Take the power cord and the cup-rack riser out of the drip tray.
  2. Fill the tank with room-temperature water to the maximum mark and seat it.
  3. Plug in and press the main switch. The display shows the LELIT logo, and the three buttons and the gauge light up for a few seconds.

Let it fill itself, then test

On the very first start the machine fills its boilers by itself. Water runs from the group for nearly a minute and the LELIT logo flashes. Let it finish. The whole circuit takes up to 4 minutes to fill.

The display then flashes the coffee-boiler temperature as it climbs. The machine is ready when the temperature bar is complete and OK appears, after about 15 minutes. Lelit's earlier manual then checks each function:

  1. Lock in the empty filterholder and run about half a litre of water through the group.
  2. Hold a jug under the hot-water outlet, press the hot-water button and stop when water flows.
  3. Point the wand over the grate, open the steam knob anticlockwise and close it when steam appears.

Fit the softener filter

  1. Soak the supplied softener filter in a jug of water for about 3 minutes to drive the air out.
  2. Pull the intake tube out of the tank and take off the small plastic filter on its end.
  3. Push the softener filter on in its place and put the tube back in the tank.

When to change it is under water and filters.
