Steam through detergent

1. Fill a jug with 500 ml of cold water and one 25 ml bottle of Lelit steam-wand detergent.
2. Put the wand in the jug.
3. Steam for 5 seconds, wait 5 seconds, and repeat 10 times.
4. Do it all again with 1 litre of fresh water to rinse.

Clear a blocked tip

This is the manual's check for weak or no steam, once you know economy mode is off.

1. Let the wand cool and unscrew the tip.
2. Open the steam knob briefly to test the steam without it.
3. Clean the holes. The earlier manual says to free them with a needle.
4. Screw the tip back on.

The hot-water outlet is the same: take off its spray tip (MC731), test without it, clean it and refit it.
