First start-up

Before you switch on

1. Stand the machine on a level, water-resistant surface.
2. Check the steam valve is closed, the buttons are out and the drip tray is in.
3. Lift the lid and fill the tank with fresh water, low in lime. Profitec gives a maximum hardness of 4 °dH.
4. Plug in and press the power switch.

Fill the boiler, then rinse

A new machine starts in fill mode. The display shows FIL and the boiler is empty.

1. Put a container under the group.
2. Press the coffee button. The pump runs and the display counts up.
3. Wait until the count reaches at least 30 and water is running from the group.
4. Press the coffee button again to stop. The display shows UP while it heats, then the boiler temperature. From cold it takes about 4 minutes.
5. Run 2 to 3 full tanks of water through the group to rinse the boiler and pipes.
6. Lock the empty portafilter in so it warms up. Leave it there between coffees.

The portafilter, drip tray and tank are not dishwasher safe.
