Safety thermostat and sensor
Safety thermostat and temperature sensor
The safety thermostat cuts the heating if the boiler reaches 165 °C. It has a small button in its centre. To reset it:
- Unplug.
- Take the top off.
- Press the button. A slight click means it had tripped.
If it trips again, the element has run dry or the relay has failed, and that needs a dealer.
The temperature sensor screws into the boiler top. On the sister machine it comes out with a 14 mm spanner after the thermostat beside it (17 mm) is loosened, and goes back with PTFE tape on its thread. Scale on its tip makes the display read wrong.
