Water leaks round the portafilter

The manual: check the group gasket, and replace it if visibly worn. Keep the portafilter in the group when not in use so the gasket does not dry out. Brush grounds off the seal and the basket rim.

A handle that swings well past the centre with a new 8 mm gasket suggests a worn group: Seattle Coffee Gear moves up to 8.5 mm.
