Magenta lamp, or it says the tank is empty

The manual: flashing magenta, or the tank icon, means the tank is empty. Fill it.

Tank not fully down: press it firmly so its tap engages (the manual; an older-Giotto owner's fix).
Full but still magenta, or brewing cuts out: the water may be too pure for the sensor. The manual warns against distilled water; an older-Giotto owner added a little mineral.
